After a long wait in line and an even longer stair climb-not too long but left me with shaky legs-we reached the bell level of the north tower. Then the clock struck ten. I can't tell you what an incredible experience it was to be feet from the bell as it chimed to all Of Paris, looking at the city just as the king would have in centuries past - it was spectacular. If you've ever seen that Disney movie, you have an idea of what I'm talking about. THAT moment was worth the climb and I will do it again! Of course, we also had a lovely view of the city, and we climbed even higher onto the top of the south tower for a panoramic view and I don't know what it is, but something about the steeple-dotted sea if rooflines makes me feel so at home and blessed to be here. Lovely visit to the cathedral!

The group split up and we were given lunch money (boo yah!), I wandered a few book stores (I love bookstores, but if anything makes the tenth commandment hard for me, it's bookstores), before running off to my favorite falafel place. And you know what? It was ok. Good, great, but not the amazing marvel I remembered it as. I will likely still return because value for money is great! And if that's the only thing about Paris I remembered too highly, that is fine with me!
I walked from St. Michel to le Jardin du Luxembourg, one of my very favorites, but I got hungry along the way, so I stopped for a baguette and Brie, my all time favorite park food. I stopped in at the right shop and got both for less than 2 euro, plus the nice man only charged me 1/4 price for the water! Score!
The gardens were beautiful as always, and I spent an hour napping in a chaise lounge in the sun (I know...life here is ROUGH).
Watching the children push sailboats with sticks was adorable! Also, the things they say...so cute!
My prof here last fall got a good chuckle out of me saying that the guards at the Louvre alone were worth the cost of admission, (though all the other girls, including my French teacher, agreed), and since we're talking about beautiful things... I got stuck inside a group of Italian Boy Scouts (shucks...) and noticed that the guards outside the park were quite nice as well...
Don't worry, I will do work soon! ;) I'm on my way to my first class now! Promise :)
I shared my baguette with this little fellow, because his cooings were cute :)
Oh! And I took some pictures of the campus here, et voila...
The main house, and its lovely garden.
Looking through the front gate, the white arch in the background is the train station, and that bit of green and white through the right side of the fence is a tram!
This is where I live!
The hallway to my room :)
